How Tranquilene Works
The key to Tranquilene's effectiveness is its two-part formula that works toward fast relief from nervousness and panic as well as long-term mood support. The ingredients in our formula provide crucial nutrients to the systems in your brain responsible for maintaining a calm mood, and work to restore balance, creating a calmer, more confident you.
First some background about the most common causes of stress, nervousness and panic.
The two most important neurotransmitters for keeping calm and preventing panicky feelings are Serotonin and GABA (or gamma-Aminobutyric acid). As research shows us, Serotonin is the main chemical in the body that regulates mood, sleep cycle, and muscle tension. GABA is a calming, or "peacemaker," chemical in the brain that induces relaxation, reduces stress levels, and increases focus. Constant nervousness and panic attacks often result from low levels of GABA and/or Serotonin in the body.
Tranquilene is the only all-natural supplement that offers comprehensive support for the body's production of Serotonin and GABA through our unique proprietary formula. And that's not all. The formula also contains several fast-acting herbs, vitamins and minerals that help calm you down quickly while the body's mood systems are restored to balance.
Immediate Calm - Panic Relief System
For the first few weeks of taking Tranquilene, you should notice the effects of the immediate relief ingredients most strongly. Over time, the rest of the formula works to balance out a number of the systems that help the body deal with severe stress - and even panic - on its own.
First, Tranquilene gives you a solid supply of GABA. Many people who constantly worry or have panic attacks have brains that are very thirsty for GABA and its relaxing, focusing effects. Providing a dose of this neurotransmitter up front gives the body time to work with Tranquilene to produce more GABA on its own.
The herb Passion Flower has a mild but fast-acting sedative effect and promotes a positive frame of mind. Because of these qualities, herbalists often use Passion Flower to reduce severe stress and nerves stemming from drug and alcohol withdrawal. Ashwagandha and Brahmi (or Bacopa Monnieri) come from the Indian medical tradition of Ayurveda. For centuries they have been used together to help people suffering from chronic stress, nervousness and panic attacks, while sharpening the brain’s focus, concentration, mental endurance and memory. Our research has shown that these three herbs together create a powerful system that calms you down while letting you stay focused.
From modern mental health science, we know the importance of Niacin (Vitamin B3) and the elements Magnesium and Calcium in keeping a calm, even mood. Magnesium deficiency on its own has been shown to contribute to raise stress levels incredibly and only 32% of adults in the U.S. are getting enough. Niacin and Calcium are also needed by the body to maintain emotional balance and act quickly to provide a more positive frame of mind.
Long-term Mood Support System
The key to why Tranquilene grows even more effective over time are L-Theanine, Vitamin B Complex and Tryptophan.
Tryptophan is the most basic precursor, or "building block," of Serotonin. It works like 5-HTP but is more natural and easier for the body to work with. The body converts Tryptophan into 5-HTP, which then is turned into 5-HT, or Serotonin. Over time, Tranquilene will make sure your body gets enough Tryptophan to maintain balanced Serotonin.
Found in green tea (which we also have in the formula), L-Theanine is an amino acid shown to boost the levels of GABA in the brain. Having both L-Theanine and GABA in the same formula lets the body start producing its own GABA while using the dose that Tranquilene has already provided.
B-Vitamins are critical to the nervous system, which controls our stress response. Our stress response system determines how we feel in the face of everyday stress. Having enough B-Vitamins ensures that the body will not overreact when the body first feels stress. Tranquilene contains the following B-Vitamins: B1 (Thiamene), B-3 (Niacin), B-5 (Pantothenate), B-6 (Pyridoxene) and B-12 (Cyanocobalamin).
How long should you take Tranquilene?
While it is common to begin feeling some relief after the first dose, the formula often requires some time to reach its full effectiveness. We generally recommend taking Tranquilene for at least three to four months give your body enough time to come into balance with the formula. The wonderful thing about a natural approach to fighting stress and panic is that there are rarely any side effects, unlike most prescription medications. However, natural calming remedies rarely have the same strong, immediate effects of a Benzo or SSRI. Tranquilene is more about coming into balance than forcing a sudden mental change.
